Tribute

Saul Coleman was born on September 21, 1967, the only child of James Coleman and Dorothy Mae Evans. He attended Newbury Elementary School and later Lane Technical High School. His intelligence and driven nature would push him towards many different extracurricular activities like debate club and earn the honor of being a National Achievement Semi-Finalist in 1995. However, it was the urging from a beloved counselor, Mr. Purnell, to take a computer course that would lead Saul to his lifelong passion. He went on to major in Computer Science at Roosevelt University. His first step into the computer science industry was under the mentorship of the late Clarence Edward Willis I. Through him, Saul taught computer classes to employees at different corporations. After teaching a class at the University of Chicago, he was offered an IT position and remained there for 29 years. From a very young age, Saul was raised in the church. In 1992, as he was continuing his spiritual journey, he would meet his future wife Stacey Y. Mucker at Chicago Church of Christ. Together, they would continue to grow stronger in faith, lead in ministry, and bring many people to faith. Saul had two children, his son Ronald Coleman and daughter Rachel Coleman who he loved and cherished deeply.

Saul is lovingly survived and missed by his mother, Dorothy Mae Coleman; his dearly loved wife, Stacey Yvette Coleman; his heart, son Ronald James Coleman; and his princess, daughter Rachel Nicole Coleman. Saul loved his in laws; Rev Ronald and Rev Johnetta Mucker; sister in law’s Charlotte Shepard and Rhonda Mucker; brother in law, Artis Mucker (Tamika). Saul enjoyed spending time with his nieces; Katheryn Mucker, Constance Mucker, Jasmine Shepard, Mashiara Mucker, Aliayah Mucker, and Alexa Mucker. He had a few great nieces and a great nephew. Saul is preceded in death by his father, James Coleman. Saul will be beautifully remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close family friends. Saul’s life was a blessed gift we will always hold in our hearts. All who had the privilege of just engaging him, immediately felt his kindness. Our hearts rejoice knowing God had a plan that embraced Saul. Until that day when we can share game tips, receive “did you know” facts, and witness your caring smile, Rest in Heaven Saul Evans Coleman! We love and miss you
