It breaks my heart to say that on February 23rd, 2023 after a long battle with illness, Simonette Bustos has passed away. She was taken that morning at RML Specialty Hospital.
Simonette was born to Alicia and Simon Bustos on January 9th, 1970. She spent her whole life fighting for independence due to get struggle with muscular dystrophy. During this struggle she found peace inn her apartment and adventures with family and friends.
Simmie loved her time at Horizon Camps and found lifelong friendships there. She loved all kinds of music and art. She taught herself many different artistic discipline and saw as many concerts as possible.
Simmie was kind, caring and so intelligent. She graduated Cum Laude from Colorado Technical University with a bachelor's degree in Science in Software Engineering. For as kind as she was, she was not one to back down from adversity or confrontation. She would hold her ground and stand by her convictions.
Simonette is loved by many and will be remembered for all the love she spread. She joins her mother, father, brother Alex Bustos and sister Gracie Bustos. She is survived by her sister Veronica Moisant, nephews Jeremy and Brian Moisant, Tanner Bustos, nieces Caitlin and Melissa Moisant, Trina, Tiffane and Tera Bustos, and many great nieces and nephews.
