Remembering Mrs. Umland, my neighbor in Old Matteson during the '50s-'60s fondly. Many memories of those days, of her and Gerry. I was indeed saddened at the news of Edie's passing this past week. Having lived away from the area the past 38 year, I was blessed to spend time visiting with her at my eldest brother, Curt's wake at Hirsch's West End in Matteson last September. Despite having been away so long, she was still as kind, friendly and lovely as I remembered her.
Our deepest sympathies to Denise, a childhood friend of mine and her family; Edie's sister Lawrida; the extended Umland and Trenary families and all of Edie's friends. Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers as you grieve her passing, and begin the healing transition of love. gratitude and cherished memories of your life with her.
